I was actually hoping that even a little (even bad) creativity would help you get your writing mojo back...one post every four or five days just isn't like you!

And Teryl, you will always be my sweety-peety.

Vogons awake
give yourselves a shake,
Steve’s birthday it is;
it’s no crime to rhyme.

Oblate he is;
to that he brings fizz.
Contemplative, tenacious,
Always gracious.

Husband and father fine.
not one to whine,
generous and kind,
growing ties that bind,
and mercy, of course,
as he taps into the source.

Mercy where mercy is due,
even when taboo.

His cabin, his trees, his bikes and hikes,
are things he likes.
The Monastery, the Mission,
the human condition,
friends with carts and heavy hearts,
the arts.

But lest you think him a saint,
that he ain’t.

Loganberry wine and brandy
are also fine and dandy
Sable Ridge, the sixties, his guitar,
beloved they are.
Then Ozomatli, Michael Frante, energized musicians,
make him dance, inspire new missions.

So party tonight
It’s only right.
There’s time for it all,
you’ll recall.

Time to sleep,
time to weep,
time to laugh,
blow away the chaff.

I love you Dad. I appreciate your ability to be open about mistakes and to move forward with growing awareness. And I love that I'm your sweety-peety.
